Coffee Direct from the Farmer

This DirectTrade coffee has a beautiful balance between rich chocolate notes and a hint of caramel, with a fresh, soft fruitiness reminiscent of mandarin.

This Colombia Supremo is a coffee of stature. Literally, because in Colombia coffee is graded by bean size: Supremo is the category for the largest coffee beans.
But this coffee is truly a coffee of stature, with a very beautiful flavor profile, sustainably grown with a great deal of passion and pride.

In this pure form, it makes a beautiful filter and cafetière coffee. And for those who enjoy the delicious fruity aromas, it is also suitable as an espresso and lungo/americano.
But these coffee beans are also used in many of our blends because of their aromas and high quality.

This coffee has an SCA score of 84 points (very good).

100% Sustainable

Colombia Coffee Country

Colombia is one of the major coffee-producing countries, with around 800,000 hectares of coffee bushes. It is predominantly grown on a small scale, and because the vast areas are located in different climate zones, there are multiple harvest periods.

Our Colombian coffee beans are sourced from a select group of farmers in South Huila. Each farmer adds their own distinctive notes to the coffee, so there may be slight variations in the flavor nuances.

On the small plantations, averaging 2.5 hectares, hard work is done to produce the best coffee cherries. At these altitudes, there are few insects, so pesticides are not needed for a good harvest. Preserving nature is very important and completely normal for these coffee plantations.

Farmers Direct

The coffee from this plantation is purchased directly from the cooperative (Farmers Direct). Because there are fewer intermediaries in the purchasing of this coffee, a larger share of the proceeds goes to the farmers.

Colombia - coffee country

Colombia is one of the world’s major coffee-producing countries, with around 800,000 hectares of coffee bushes. Coffee is predominantly grown on a small scale, and because the vast areas are spread across different climate zones, there are several harvest periods. Cascade de Bordones is the name of the cooperative of 40 farming families in or near the town of Isnos in the province of Huila. On their small farms, averaging 2.5 hectares, the farmers work hard to produce the finest coffee cherries. At these altitudes (1,800–2,000 metres), there are few insects, so pesticides are not needed for a good harvest. Protecting nature is very important—and entirely normal—on these coffee farms.

ZEEUWS COFFEE AND TEA HOUSE

FRESHLY BAKED

We roast our coffee beans twice a week, so the coffee is always fresh.

Orders are shipped daily. If you order before 4:00 PM, your coffee will be shipped the same day.

Some varieties are roasted especially for you, which may result in a slightly longer delivery time. In that case, we will always send you an email so you know that your order is being processed.

WHOLE BEANS OR GROUND?

Many people grind the beans themselves in a fully automatic machine or with a grinder next to the coffee machine.

No grinder at home? Then we will grind the beans for you. With the 250 and 500 gram packages, you can choose your grind.

Choose the right coffee grind

Although coffee beans stay fresh longest when left unground, we can also grind the coffee for you. Not everyone has a coffee grinder at home, after all.

We grind coffee for filter, espresso, cafetière, etc. Below is a table showing the right grind settings for different brewing methods. Choose your grind setting before adding the coffee to your shopping cart.

We only grind our beans to order in 250 g and 500 g bags. So if, for example, you want a kilo of ground coffee, order 4 x 250 g or 2 x 500 g. You can then open one bag while keeping the others sealed airtight and therefore fresh.

All coffee is packed airtight in a sealed bag with a valve. The valve lets air out of the bag but not in. If air could not escape, the bag could inflate. Fresh coffee releases gases, after all. This is a natural process.

Grind settings

Grind 2: Turkish Extra-fine ground coffee.
Grind 3: Fine espresso ECM, Quickmill, Ascaso, Rancilio, etc.
Grind 4: Espresso Gaggia, Saeco, Krups, DeLonghi, KitchenAid. Domestic espresso machines. Also for stovetop espresso makers.
Grind 5: Drip coffee Standard drip coffee maker, Jura (for the compartment for ground coffee)
Grind 6: Pour-over For filters filled by pouring water over the coffee by hand.
Grind 7:

Cafetière/
French press

Coarse grind for a French press, resulting in less sediment in the coffee
Grind 8: Cona This special brewing system works best with a very coarse grind.

Questions?

Would you like a different grind setting—for example, extra coarse for a Cona or French press? No problem. Leave a note with your order in the shopping cart, or email us.

Sustainable packaging

To help protect the environment, we reuse as much used packaging material as possible. If boxes are still sturdy enough, we use them to pack orders. Some boxes may look a little more "used" than others. If a box is no longer sturdy enough, it is shredded and used as filling material to protect items such as porcelain and earthenware.

If a box looks damaged when it arrives, please let us know as soon as possible. Ideally, please email us a photo so we can take a look with you.

    Delivery time

For almost all items, the delivery time is 1 to 2 business days. On Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday, all packages are dispatched. If an order is placed before 4:00 PM on one of those days, it will usually be delivered the same day.

For coffee, sometimes (when the coffee still needs to be roasted) we need a little extra time. You will then receive a super fresh product. We opt for the highest quality, and that takes a little extra time.

    Pay

You can easily pay with iDEAL, Mastercard or Visa Card with 3D Secure. Safe and reliable.

You can also pay by manual bank transfer, of course. Please include your order number so that we can quickly link your payment to your order.
