REAL HANDIWORK

Bunzlau Castle tableware is entirely handmade. The process begins with clay, which dries in pre-formed molds. Once the clay has hardened sufficiently, the molds are removed and any imperfections are smoothed out. After the clay has air-dried for several hours, the distinctive blue rim is applied, and the tableware is fired in the kiln for the first time.

The clay is now bisque-fired, so it is time to decorate. Sponges are used to stamp the unique patterns, while details are added with a brush. This authentic technique ensures that each piece has its own character, and no two items are exactly alike. After the patterns have been applied, the tableware is glazed and fired again at 1250 degrees Celsius. This high firing temperature makes the ceramics strong and suitable for everyday use.
