Exceptional Oolong from Thailand

For over 50 years, fantastic light (green) Oolong teas have been produced in northern Thailand, on the mountain “Doi Phayapai”. Comparable to the Jade Oolongs from Taiwan, and sometimes even better.

The foundation for this comes from Taiwan: tea bushes from Taiwan’s high mountains were imported to Thailand, and with the help of experienced producers from Taiwan, the quality has been improved year after year, both in terms of cultivation methods and production processes.

This Oolong is distinguished by an aromatic bouquet of floral notes and a pronounced, creamy sweetness.

Milky Oolong

Jin Xuan means "golden lily". The tea has milky notes and is also called Milky Oolong . However, this tea contains no added flavourings and undergoes no special production steps (such as steaming with milk, etc.). Its creamy flavour is a natural characteristic of this tea cultivar.

Our own No.108 Milky Oolong is an oolong from China with added flavouring. The popularity of Jin Xuan has led producers to develop this tea using a different cultivar and therefore an extra ingredient. Also delicious, but just a little different.

Oolong tea

Black tea is made by allowing green tea leaves to oxidise completely, which turns them brown/black. This also changes the flavour of the tea.

Stopping this process partway through oxidation produces partially oxidised tea, known as oolong.

Oolong includes all tea that is oxidised to any degree, from lightly to almost completely. There are therefore many varieties.

Jin Xuan Oolong is made from Camellia sinensis x assamica (like many other oolongs). This is the "Assam" variety of the tea plant. The leaves of this variety are large and tough, so they are rolled extensively during the production process. You can see this in the loose-leaf tea, which consists of little clumps of tea leaves. The leaves unfurl beautifully when you pour water over them, and you can clearly see again that they are leaves from a plant.

Frequently Asked Questions

We have briefly summarized the essential information here.

Still have questions? Contact us via our contact page.

How is the tea packaged?

All our loose-leaf tea is packaged in airtight (sealed) bags. The packaging, of course, includes a description of the tea, brewing instructions, and ingredients.

We package your tea with each order. This means that we create and fill the packaging to order.

How long does the tea keep?

Loose tea stores well. In its sealed packaging, the tea is at least good until the date on the package. For pure tea, this is often 2 years. For flavored tea, 1.5 years.

Sustainable packaging

To help protect the environment, we reuse as much used packaging material as possible. If boxes are still sturdy enough, we use them to pack orders. Some boxes may look a little more "used" than others. If a box is no longer sturdy enough, it is shredded and used as filling material to protect items such as porcelain and earthenware.

If a box looks damaged when it arrives, please let us know as soon as possible. Ideally, please email us a photo so we can take a look with you.

    How is tea best stored?

Simply put: store in a cool, dry place.

It is best to store your tea in its closed packaging at room temperature. But once it is open, you can seal the packaging tightly with, for example, a clip or clothespin. But this is neither very nice nor practical.

It is important that as little oxygen as possible can get to your tea. So a sealable tin or jar is handy. And it looks nice.

Light is also not good, so bags with a window or glass jars are less suitable, unless you store them in a dark cabinet.

    Delivery time

For almost all items, the delivery time is 1 to 2 business days. On Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday, all packages are dispatched. If an order is placed before 4:00 PM on one of those days, it will usually be delivered the same day.

For coffee, sometimes (when the coffee still needs to be roasted) we need a little extra time. You will then receive a super fresh product. We opt for the highest quality, and that takes a little extra time.

    Pay

You can easily pay with iDEAL, Mastercard or Visa Card with 3D Secure. Safe and reliable.

Of course, you can also pay by manual bank transfer. Please include your order number so that we can quickly link your payment to your order.

    Always something nice at home

    Tea box

The TeaBox is an ideal small gift for anyone who loves tea.

For example, there is a "Thank you" TeaBox, with which you can thank someone in a fun way, and a "Congratulations" TeaBox for a birthday, exam, etc.

In short, there is a TeaBox for every occasion.
